Meyrals

the view from our bedroom window
our 'home' is the far right, top two floors
a small lake in the village
our morning walk back to our house
Isa was willing to 'pose' for a photo shoot....too bad we didn't have the good camera!
We really love our little village in the Dordogne....Meyrals. I could never live here full time but it is a great place to chill for a week. It's very quaint with stone homes and a small lake. There is one boulangerie and of course a small church. Natalie and Tom and Isa and I took a walk this morning....here is a sampling of the pictures we took.
The townhouse we are staying in is on the far right. We have the top two floors. The owners live in the bottom part, but as soon as they finish renovating their stone barn, that is where they will live full time. There is another family from South Africa staying in the far left part of the complex and they have a 4 year old boy, Michael, which Bryn has found to be a great playmate.

Dan Packer has received his Mission Call!

I got an email from my brother Brent telling us that Dan Packer got his mission call! He was called to the Paraguay Asuncion North! He reports on Sept 7th!!! So he and Steve practically do a 'hand-off'....pretty exciting. Brent and Sandy will now submit their papers and will put their availability for Sept 7th.....It's all pretty exciting!

Portugal's have arrived

Yeah. The Portugal family arrived safe and sound yesterday. We have already played in the forest among the bluebells. We have chilled on the veranda. And on their very first night....we went to Domus! Even though they are staying a month, we all know that you can't even waste a minute of time because it all flies by too fast.
Today is April 20th....Happy birthday Lara!
Oh, and I included a picture of me and my friend Marianne. We met up in Den Haag for lunch. She is one of my tennis buddies but has since moved to Den Haag

Shahan Shaheen

I have a random post here.
This is a name that I came across while I was indexing for family history.
Can you imagine? "Oh look honey, a beautiful baby boy....let's call him Shahan."
"Ok, sweety. How cute.....Shahan Shaheen. I'm sure it won't be confusing to anybody!"

It does kind of roll off your tongue.
So I was guessing they were from Ireland, but no, they were from Syria.
So it's Shahan Shaheen from Syria!

Now I'm just exposing myself here. I must have a dang boring life if I think this is worth a post! Better hurry up Portugals! (However, for the record, I do enjoy my boring life!)

Vrolijk Pasen

That would be 'Joyous Easter' in Dutch.
Phonetically it would be pronounced: Fro lick pass in.
So this Easter season, when you pass somebody from Holland shout out "Vrolijk Pasen" and I bet they will be impressed!
