Dougga

Dougga is an amazingly preserved Roman Settlement, in the middle of nowhere!  We took a taxi and it was a 2 and 1/2 hour ride from our city of Hammamet.  But it was worth the drive.  This place was incredible.  We couldn't believe how well the city has stood the ravages of time.  I think if it was hundreds of years later in America, all the tourists could find might be granite kitchen counter tops!   The amphitheater, the temple, the portal of the gate, the road to Carthage....amazing.  Don't you like our cute tour guide?  (in the red hat)

Beach, pool, hotel

We find it hard to leave our little paradise.  They have a sailboat, sea kayaks, the pool and beach are so inviting.  We walk and read and eat lunch in the cafe overlooking the beach.  The sky is blue, the water is clear and warm enough to swim in.  It has the feel of Greece.  Definitely a country that is overlooked.  Of course they did have a revolution just one year ago...
