This character was really helpful to us at one of the tourist sites. I asked him if I could take a picture of him. He looked around and then motioned for us to follow him. He took us out of the tourist area to this grassy hillside. THEN, and only then we could take his picture. I took one of him with the girls and he asked kindly that I don't put it on FB, but the one with the boys it was OK. He wanted me to send him the pictures by email, but he couldn't write down his address (would be breaking the Sabbath) so I wrote it as he dictated it to me. |

He asked if we knew the joke about the Jews? "un, no, I guess not...." He starts his joke: " When the Torah was presented to the Arabs, they said, WHAT? No murder? No thanks, it's not for us." "When the Torah was presented to the Spaniards they said, WHAT? no sex? Not thanks, it's not for us." When the Torah was presented to the Jews, they said, HOW MUCH? Free? Great, we will take it!" Then he lets out a hearty laugh. |

We were happy to get a small lecture from him about his clothes, some of the beliefs, and about him personally. He said he is supposed to get married and have children but he is not allowed to be around girls! That frustrated him. I can imagine. |

mini reunion with brussels friends: Simons and Kimballs. Amazing. |
 |
Yep, this is LuLu Wells. She had her 17th birthday on our trip. |
 |
Louisa Chilisea is also in Seminary. This was her second time out of Belgium! |
 |
Daniel Casares. I have added these long time young Brusselites for those of you who know the families. Daniel was born when Dan Herway left for his mission. He is now 16 years old. And look how tall he is! |

This place is called St. George. Looks a bit different than St. George Utah. Our driver took us here. Located outside of Jerusalem (we were on our way to Galilee) |

Note the WALL. Yep, the Israel government is putting up a wall between them and Palestine. You can't blame them. Except in my life time I have seen a wall come down, and now I have seen a wall go up. Men/history don't really ever change do they? |
These pictures are not your normal ones you might expect from a trip to Jerusalem with your Seminary class. We had a great time. I asked the kids what their favorite day was. One picked the spiritual day (in Galilee) one picked the first day when we packed in so much (Dome, Garden Tomb, Hezekiah tunnel) But the rest of the kids picked the Dead Sea. Teenagers. Gotta love how honest they are.
