Just too funny not to share

We have a sweet guy who teaches our Gospel Doctrine.  Really so so nice.  One Sunday this was the diagram on the board.  I took a picture of it because it really clarified what he was teaching and I wanted to be able to refer to it often.  Doesn't it make total sense?
I'm just having fun.  He really is the sweetest guy.  And last Sunday was a great lesson!

The Salzkammergut

Jake & Mel treated Dad & I to a train ride to the top of the world for Dad's birthday.  What a view.

Hard to take it all in.

Same train that is used in the Sound of Music

Jake was the only one brave enough to plunge into that freezing cold water

A rare picture of everyone together:  Hallstatt

I walked out on that ledge.  Looks more dangerous than it is

Small house on the top of the ridge.  See it?  It's a hotel and restaurant!

Sound of Music re-enactment.  I can hear you hit that high note Mel!

Confidence

Up to the Abbey to see if Maria will talk to us
Salzburg!
Horse riding lessons

Easy for Tom.  They were all naturals with the horses.

Not the free style of riding you get in the West.  They had them ride backwards, with their eyes closed, with their hands on their heads, and a trot.  Girls thought is was "So so so fun!"

Kayaks.  Rachel was determined to have her own boat.  So that's what happened.  Quite good in fact.  I loved it as well...my first time to kayak.   The water was like paddling through butter it was so smooth.

Mel is a picture perfect water skiier.  So so pretty (and I'm not talking about the scenery)

Bunion/bone spur surgery

Just before surgery

Just after surgery

The magic moon boots that allow me to walk from my bed to the bathroom!

Had my bunion surgery on Aug 28th and got home today.  Turns out I had a bone spur in each foot.  The Dr. couldn't break the second bone on the right foot to straighten out the big toe completely.  He didn't want to risk it because the cartilage was so damaged.  So same, same was done on each foot (one bone broken and bone spur and bunion removed).
Now the lovely recuperation period.  I better be up and running by November!
