Since this is my forum for documenting our travels, I have to record that we visited Bonn for 2 days, mostly on the spur of the moment. The weather turned warm and we couldn't resist the chance to bike the Rhine and stay at the Dreesen for an overnight. Thursday was a Belgian holiday so we woke up and drove to Bad Godesberg. Rented our bikes and off we went. It was a perfect day with abundant sunshine. We also discovered the Beer Garden at the hotel. We always thought it was just for drinking beer, but they serve excellent food as well. That was a pleasant surprise.
The Dreesen. Right on the Rhine. They have always upgraded us when they can and this time was no exception with a river view. The know us. Free parking (underground even), free mini-bar, bike rentals, amazing breakfast. We love it every time.
Drove home on Friday and Tom went to work for a couple of hours and then we drove to Charleroi to pick up Dan's family. Perfect!
