Some things change and some things don't

This we will never get tired of:  this view is such a killer view!  Oh, I want to live here.
This hasn't changed.  What has changed:  Lotus Vert under new management and the food is just ok.  Stockel market square is under renovation and Jean Casteau truck wasn't there, so no waffles.  Paul's Bakery still there, hooray.

These cool statues have been installed around the city.  Kind of fun.

Leonidas.  Still the same, whew!  Still hard to resist as always.

Daniel and Dinah are letting us rent their apartment.  We went to dinner with them.  One day we hung out and went to the market Jeu de Balle.

Galleries Hubert.  How did we get this cool shot?  Daniel also has an apartment on the top floor and this was from one of the windows.  It's a 2 bedroom/2 bath.

It's not the flower carpet, but they are doing a mini carpet on the 'off' year.  It's made from flower petals and vegetables!

Onions, eggplant, cauliflower, all kinds of veggies.  It is small but you are allowed to walk right among the creations.

This 'girl' is made of tomatoes, radishes, eggplant, and popcorn kernels!

The Marie-Louise Park that we walk through when we come from town to the apartment.  I have always loved the old/new composition.  Those clouds, just love them!

A drink at the gate house in Tervuren Park.  Notice we are the only ones.  It's because it was misting outside.  The waitress said, "are you sure you want to be outside?"  We told her that we live in Rome.  "Oh, then enjoy the rain!"  And we did!  It's been a cold, rainy August.  It's glorious.  (Natalie, be glad that last year it was a sunny August!)

Do you know this bend of the lake?

Isn't the shaded lane the most gorgeous lane?

The old church in the park

Luckily Domus hasn't changed.  Or the Leuven Square.  We like the fact that we had to wear light jackets.  So nice to escape the searing heat in Rome.

We went to church in Gent.  Ran into Patrick & Dominic Vanuvel and it was fun to catch up with good friends.  Afterwards we took the afternoon to walk the city and visit the Mystic Lamb.

How often do you see a moated castle in the city center?  I think we took Belgium for granted.  Now that I have been away for a year, we are seeing it and appreciating it like never before.
