Fabulous People Shots
I am so grateful. Thoroughly. Completely. These are the most fabulous people on the planet and we got to be with all of them in a 3 week whirlwind visit. I am seriously choked up. It was so great on so many levels and in so many ways. Thanks to all of you for making it happen. I know it took sacrifice and effort for everyone and I truly appreciate your efforts. It was hard to leave everyone knowing it would be about a year before we are together again. I loved visiting in your homes and in the cities where you live. We are plane rides away from each other, it's just the way it is. I don't like it, but it does make our time together so incredible. I tried to savor every. single. moment.
I do love all of you.

Ahhh. So beautiful
Dolomites Italy 2012.
We had a great week. Had another life experience. Went through rain, snow, hail, wind, fog...and finally sun and warmth! We only had one accident, and it wasn't even on the mountains, it was on a bike ride! We had our share of taking wrong turns and having to hike up and down and up and down again. Ugh. Good exercise all around, but the marathon day was 8 hours of straight hiking and only 10 minute breaks here and there. By the end of the hike we were so tired we had to concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other: we didn't even talk. Now that is tired. I have to admit that Colie is the '5 Crown' queen. I lost the week long running game. Plenty of superb food, back massages, being outdoors all day, and running the schedule to our pleasure.

Pretty fabulous! I can't imagine how he does this all from memory.

Bellagio
I think it's only Steve and Natalie now that haven't been to this hotel and view....
And you thought she didn't like to drive....ha!
The famous balcony view
We found a new trail on the opposite side of the peninsula....very picturesque.
Large body of water and me in a swimsuit....I can't resist! I have to swim in it!
After dinner in Varenna and home on the ferry. Oh so pretty.

Dougga
Dougga is an amazingly preserved Roman Settlement, in the middle of nowhere! We took a taxi and it was a 2 and 1/2 hour ride from our city of Hammamet. But it was worth the drive. This place was incredible. We couldn't believe how well the city has stood the ravages of time. I think if it was hundreds of years later in America, all the tourists could find might be granite kitchen counter tops! The amphitheater, the temple, the portal of the gate, the road to Carthage....amazing. Don't you like our cute tour guide? (in the red hat)
