Dougga is an amazingly preserved Roman Settlement, in the middle of nowhere! We took a taxi and it was a 2 and 1/2 hour ride from our city of Hammamet. But it was worth the drive. This place was incredible. We couldn't believe how well the city has stood the ravages of time. I think if it was hundreds of years later in America, all the tourists could find might be granite kitchen counter tops! The amphitheater, the temple, the portal of the gate, the road to Carthage....amazing. Don't you like our cute tour guide? (in the red hat)

What a gem of a place. Lovely!
The ruins look so well preserved! Dad must have been in Roman ruin heaven...
I really like the 5th picture. The one with the field of flowers and the ruins in the background. Nice!
