Steve and I went during the daylight hours. Tom joined us one evening and it is a completely different look. Almost more impressive in the evening under spotlight, but pictures are better in the sunlight!
Part of the beauty is of course the impressive square itself. Oh, and Steve hiked me up on his shoulders for this shot. I didn't think he could lift me, but he seemed ok with it. Strong kid!
You could pay 3 euros and go up on the balcony. It was packed. And it was hot. Skipped that.
Downtown trip complete with pitas and gauffres.....oh, and of course for Steve, FANTA!

How fun to have Steve home. He is such a cool kid. And the flower carpet thing is very cool. My kids would love to see that.
With all the times I've been to Brussels I've never seen the flower carpet. So sad, I really wish I could, it looks so cool!
I know I'm not supposed to whine because I was just home for 5 weeks this summer, but can I please just whine about missing the flower carpet this year? It's just so lovely...
the flower carpet!!! You know I can barely even remember going to see it as a little kid? Then once I left home I never seemed to be able to visit in the summer or if I did it's the summer that they're not having it!
