Le Tour

It's still the beginning of the Tour, but we were lucky enough to have it in our 'backyard' so to speak. The first day started in Rotterdam and ended near the Atomium. That's where these photos were taken. Actually this was a biker that was ahead of the pack. The police were telling him to get off the streets. He was flashing a badge of some sort, but it wasn't getting him anywhere. Finally they got him off the streets, but he was ticked. Provided lots of entertainment for the 100's of people that were lining the streets waiting for the real bikers to pass by!

The second day of the tour began at the Cinquantenaire. Colie and I took the metro downtown and stood on the overpass and when they rode by, if we would have stuck out our arms they would have touched the bikers. Amazing they let fans get so close to the athletes, while they are performing!

And more sport news: Will Germany win against Spain tonight? I'm voting for the Netherlands on Sunday no matter who wins tonight!

BAS 4th of July

Feed us! I think their choices were hamburger, hotdogs, and spare ribs. I think there were pitas but that's not American!

Every kid loved these bumper toys. Entertained them for hours.

Brauer really is a charmer. He can't help it.

Lara loves what the humidity did with her hair, don't you??

Colie passing the football with Dad.
It was fun to spend our 4th celebrations at BAS. 2nd generation Herway's. It was rather memorable for me!

Tervuren Park

Zaner. You are so awesome!

Colie and Daph going to get a closer look at the 'castle'

The Great Forest

Cute kids!

It kind of looks like he is touching the ground, but he is really high!

"Umm, this is fun, but could somebody catch me please??"

We found a fern forest where the ferns are as high as your waist. The kids could hide and you really couldn't find them! Awww, Scarlet loves her Daddy.

We borrowed a bike for Daphne to give the ramps a 'go'. We didn't steal the bike from the kid. We were nicer than the kids who stole Steve's bike from him in the exact same situation.

200 Km of Mosel Biking

On of those beautiful castles that dot the land!

How do men build such things??

Stunning vineyards. So inventive with the cable/elevator.

This section was on a brand new stretch for me....after Cochem and before Koblenz.

Seth, please be proud of us. We biked 200km from Trier to Koblenz (point A to point B) We had everything on our bikes (see the 2 bags in the back? That's all we had!) We were very proud of ourselves. One day we actually biked 120km! We took the train back to Trier.

Olivia, Zach, and Lullaby & Goodnight

Happy fish owners: Our fish are named Olivia (Ollie) and Zach (ZZ) and Lullaby and Good-night (they are twins)

Our lady was able to get the fish that each of them wanted. I mean, in a tank of several hundred fish, just how do you do that?

The workers before the ponds were cleaned. All their clothes were in the rooms where Brauer and their Mom were sleeping so I found big T-shirts of mine they could wear. It's a dirty, nasty job but they were happy to make a nice home for their new fish. PS. They had just flown in this morning. These are jet-lagged kids working this hard!!!
