Once Upon a Time

Thirty three years ago today, Tom and I were married. It's been quite an adventure to say the least. Remember the story? Both in the same ward at BYU. Tom is the activities director. He decides to go door-to-door to find out who is attending the ward camp-out. I was in my apartment, Regency #306 and it was his last door to knock on. I was home alone.
"Want to come in?"
"Sure."
We talk for several hours. I go to dance class the next day. In my class is Tom's fiancee, Dianne.
"Are you going to the camp-out?"
"No, I have to work."
Literally my heart did a flip-flop!
Campout.
Tom, "Do you want to go with me to find a hiking trail for the group to take tomorrow?"
Anita, "Sure."
The rest is history. You all have heard some of the embellishments. Some are true, some are not. The bottom line? We were lucky to find each other. We are blessed to love each other. It just keeps getting better.
So we start off. First picture of just the two of us and the famous yellow Vega. I was meeting Edna and Loren for the first time. The picture of Tom with Dan is when Dan is only hours old. Our first townhouse. Then Seth/Dan. Then Jake/Seth/Dan.
Move to Virginia. Go to next post....

Happy Anniversary!!
Thanks for giving me a moment on the phone today to guess why you were going out to dinner. :)
I am LOVING these old pictures. I really like the top one in this post of the 3 boys. Dan and Seth with their white pants and slicked hair. And jake... so chubby and cute!!
Bryn is enjoying seeing her grammy, pop, uncles, aunt and mom before she knew us.

Daphne and I have been really enjoying this post. 33 years. It's amazing, isn't it? I can't imagine being in your shoes. How does all this time fly by and then you are sitting there at dinner 33 years later? The Tom and Anita Herway legacy is beautiful. Thank you for being an incredible example to me.
